Commencement takes place each year at the end of spring semester. In 2014, commencement takes place on May 12.
All students who received a degree, master's or doctoral, during the previous summer, fall or spring semester are eligible to participate.

Students may participate in one or both of two ceremonies: the University commencement, usually held on the main quadrangle, and the Laney Graduate School Diploma Ceremony, usually held in the Schwartz Center auditorium.
In 2014, the Laney Graduate School will conduct two Diploma Ceremonies: one for master's graduates, and one for doctoral graduates.
At the Laney Graduate School ceremonies, all graduates are presented with their diplomas, and doctoral graduates are "hooded:" the Dean and the graduate's advisor place the doctoral hood on the graduate.
Information about, and instructions for, the ceremonies are in the documents posted to the right. You will also find more more information on the Emory University commencement page.
