Editors Martha Dow Fehsenfeld and Lois More Overbeck will speak on The Letters of Samuel Beckett at the Weill Art Gallery of the 92nd Street Y on Sunday, 6 December 2009, 11:00 am, in their Books & Bagels series (Lexington Avenue at 92nd Street). Their presentation about Beckett’s letters will draw on the pervasive influence of music on his art.
Katie Mitchell will talk about Samuel Beckett’s love of Schubert and this re-imaging of the Winterreise in An Evening of Beckett on Monday 7 December at the 92nd Street Y, at 8 pm.
These events are being presented in conjunction with the Lincoln Center presentation of One Evening: Schubert and Beckett, a performance of Schubert’s Winterreise in conjunction with readings from Beckett’s poetry and prose, directed by Katie Mitchell, with tenor Mark Padmore: December 9-11 in the Gerald W.
